Hi Girlie! So whats Kalon?

Kah-lon
"The ideal of physical and moral beauty, especially as conceived by the philosophers of classical Greece.
Origin: Greek, from Kalos: good, beautiful".
Why KALON? I went through many languages to translate beauty from Spanish, Russian, Romanian, Portuguese, Arabic.. etc. Until I heard Kalon; the name sounded so strong, yet subtle, and that's what I wanted to show. No matter what you look like, the color of your skin, nationality, or body size, you are beautiful the way you are, and that beauty is beyond the skin; it's the mind and the way you present yourself. We, women, are strong, but we can be delicate; we can be whatever we want to be.

This magazine is for the girlies. In the real world, there isn't any magazine that shows the true beauty of being a woman, especially teenage girls. We are in the years of our lives that have a sisterhood; I wanted to give our readers that same feeling when you're getting ready to go out with the girls in the bathroom, listening to the best songs, doing hair and makeup, taking videos, and laughing about life! It's that feeling I wanted to capture and make it into a magazine. And that's what I did.

I wanted to incorporate our big sister's advice, our best friend's gossip, and the mom's energy that inspires us to pursue our dreams. If you take a look at our logo, it's an incomplete face of a woman, and the message is that there is no "Perfect" beauty; no amount of filters, botox, or diets can make you beautiful; true beauty is from within, you need to wake up and look in the mirror and say "I am beautiful" these beauty standards have become ridiculous and its time we embraced the fantastic things about being a woman.

Why is there an arrow in the logo?
In the vast pantheon of powerful Goddesses, Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt, wilderness, and the moon. She embodies the essence of feminism, empowering women throughout history to reclaim their strength, independence, and authenticity. To honor her, the arrow is her symbol as she's often depicted with a bow and arrow in her hand; as she embodies the moon on the left side of her face, a purple moon is seen to further mark her image.

Femininity isn't all about not wearing pink or makeup because you want to go against social norms. Femininity is wearing whatever color you want, black, pink, red, blue, or purple, and not caring if it's girly; if you are happy and comfortable, that's what matters. You are still feminine if you don't wear makeup and ride motorcycles; there is no specific look too feminine beauty. You can be a girly girl or a tomboy and still be KALON.
YOU ARE KALON!
